Help! I Want My Church to Grow

Monday, July 7, 2008
Pastor David Ripley exposes the 31 most widespread misconceptions that keep churches from growing into vibrant communities. Drawing from more than 20 years of pastoral experience, Ripley identifies pitfalls and offers principles that will attract people to your church.

Welcome!

Greetings, on behalf of CITF (Church in the Fields), I would like to welcome you to our church website. Let me briefly introduce you to our church.

CITF (Church in the Fields) are a Seventh-day Adventist community church. We are a new Christian church plant in Macquarie Fields in Sydney's Southwest. We were birthed out of and based at Macarthur Adventist College. We worship together every Saturday morning at 10am. And we range in all ages from 0-60+ as well as from many different nationalities, cultures & backgrounds! We have a relaxed, friendly & informal feel to our church. We pray that when you visit, you will be inspired & sense that you have drawn closer to Jesus by the time you leave. We'd love to see you. Please feel free to join any of our up and coming events.

We meet every Saturday, from 10am - 12:30pm (followed by lunch) at 12 Victoria Rd, Macqaurie Fields (Macarthur Adventist College). The nearest train stations are Glenfield & Macquarie Fields.

CONNECTIONS RELATIONSHIP SEMINAR - MON 28 JULY - FRI 1 AUG 2008, 7-830PM

From 7-8:30pm on Mon 28 July - Fri 1 Aug, we will be hosting "CONNECTIONS" - a relationship seminar for couples and people.

Our guest speakers are Pastor Francis Pule and his wife Jennifer, a nurse. They are originally from NZ but have been pastoring a number of churches in Tasmania. They are a lovely couple and you are going to love what they have lined up:

Monday: LOVE FOR A LIFETIME
Here we will meet our hosts as they share their love experience. They will look at love for life, including wedding vows and what their relationship looks like.

Tuesday: COMMUNICATION AND DIFFERENCES.
Couples will have an opportunity to spend some time together discovering how they use communication, how their partner communicates and whether there are ways in which they can improve their communication together.

Wednesday: RESOLVING CONFLICT
Resolving conflict, understanding triggers, and different ways of dealing with conflict.

Thursday: GREAT EXPECTATIONS
Here we look at a number of areas, touching on expectations, objectives, a roadworthy-ness check, and into the future.

Friday: INTIMACY, ROMANCE AND SEX
What is romance? What is intimacy? How important are they? And sex – does the earth really move?

Saturday: SUMMARY & CLOSING
Here Frances & Jen will sumarise the entire week's learnings and they will deal more specifically about how God makes a difference in their relationship.

There are a number of things you can do to support this event for our church:

  • Attend, so you can upskill in the area of your personal relationships. (Also please dont think you have to be a couple only to attend, although it is designed with couples in mind, not yet marrieds and singles can still learn alot from this seminar.)
  • Attend, so you can meet families from the school and invite them to church
  • Volunteer to help out either in the 1) Cafe (hosting, serving), 2) sell books in our resource area, or be with 3) Kids Care (kids activities while their parents are in the session), or be a 4) host/friend to our guests on the night. Options #3 & #4 are our greatest need.
  • Invite your friends along to this.
  • Pray for the success of this event
  • Pray for Pr Francis & Jennifer (they will also be the guest speakers at our Festival of Faith at the school during the mornings)

Although the course is free, we do have a $5 reservation fee only to ensure we get a good turnout.

Also, after CONNECTIONS we will immediately launch a monthly men's group as well as parenting workshops. So keep these ideas in your prayers also.

If you have any questions please do not hestitate to call me. Thanks always for your support.
Many blessings
Andre

CITF "30 DAYS TO LIVE" starting Saturday 24 May 2008 through to all of June 2008

Please join us tomorrow (Sat 31 May 2008) at CITF for an introduction to a new preaching & teaching series we are doing all throughout June that asks this thought-provoking question “HOW WOULD YOU LIVE YOUR LIFE IF YOU ONLY HAD 30 DAYS TO LIVE?”

Just imagine … How would your life look different? Would you spend more time at work or with your kids? Who would you need to forgive or seek forgiveness from? What about God? Where would he fit in? Would you play more or pray more or both?

Come along for a journey as we discover some positive answers to some of these tough life questions.  This is a great service to invite your non-Christian friends to.

I hope to see you all tomorrow.

Many blessings

Burdens

Burdens. Everyone has them. Uninvited, they latch onto us and efficiently go about their business of sucking the life right out of us. And the longer they are with us, the heavier they grow.

His Masterpiece

There's nothing in us that would make God love us. He loves us because He simply has no choice. He created us. He created us in His own image and likeness! He knows everything about us.

The End of the Road

My family and I were returning to our home state after living elsewhere for a few years. During our absence, a new interstate highway system had been constructed. Even though we were tired after traveling all day, we were...

Of Hope and Healing

Pregnancy is a time of excitement, high hopes and high expectations. Yet it can be filled with stress of the unknowns. When my husband and I found out we were pregnant with our second, we were extremely excited.

Transforming Grace
